The decision was made during the party primaries held at the Golden Tulip Hotel Etete, GRA Benin City, Edo state. Anderson, a season lawyer secured ab affirmation with 188 votes, showcasing strong support within the party. Abayomi Arabambi, spokesperson of the LP faction, in a statement on Saturday, said the party is proud of the “achievements” recorded by Yakubu and INEC during the 2023 polls. The statement comes hours after the Julius Abure-led faction of the LP, in an open letter addressed to Yakubu, called on the electoral umpire to reject any form of compromise.
