Supreme court settles Labour Party rift, confirms Lamidi Apapa as National Chairman, Ordered INEC to upload Ukaegbu Ikechukwu Joseph as Imo Guber candidate

By Our Correspondent The Supreme Court has confirmed Alhaji Lamidi Apapa as the acting National Chairman of the Labour Party while the court also affirmed all candidates that emerged through primaries conducted by his faction as the authentic candidates for the off-season governorship elections for Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi States. The confirmation followed the dismissal of the appeal filed by Senator Athan Achonu and Mr. Basil Maduka against the ruling of the lower courts. With the Supreme Court ruling, the Lamidi Apapa Executives were confirmed as the authentic leaders of the Party. The confirmation also confirmed Chief Ukaegbu Ikechukwu Joseph Ikenga as the Imo Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate.
