By Our Correspondent   The Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has passed a vote of confidece on Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Abayomi Arabambi, spokesperson of the LP faction, in a statement on Saturday, said the party is proud of the “achievements” recorded by Yakubu and INEC during the 2023 polls. The statement comes hours after the Julius Abure-led faction of the LP, in an open letter addressed to Yakubu, called on the electoral umpire to reject any form of compromise. By Our Correspondent A middle aged man was yesterday rescued from his abductors by a team of local vigilante group. It was gathered that some gunmen few days ago abducted one Niyi Kujore, a close ally of a foremost politician from Ogun State, Hon. Sheu Adedolapo Somoye while on a business trip to Kano. Niyi Kujore, a close supporter and friend of Somoye was said to have hosted him when Somoye was in Lagos in year 2022, while evading the political group and authorities that were seeking to eliminate him. Information revealed that Niyi Kujore was abducted in his hotel room at Wada Guest House, Kwalli, Kano State by five heavily armed men and whisked away to an unknown destination.
