Ogun: Itoku Development Association Petitions Dapo Abiodun, DSS on Alleged Fraudulent Activities of Kehinde Sofenwa & others

By Our Correspondent The Itoku Development Association has petitioned the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Department of State Security Services over acts that may cause a breach of peace in the homesteads and township located within Egba Division of Ogun State. In a petition signed by Chief Babajide Adebiyi, and Alhaji Tajudeen Kasali, the President and Secretary respectfully, the association alleged that Oluwo Itoku township, Chief Olusoji Sodamola and Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, the Odofin of Itoku, of illegal sales of Itoku community natural resources and diverted the money for their personal use. The four-page letter stated further that efforts by the good people of town to ensure that the Chiefs refrain from the alleged sale of the resources which run into millions of Naira proved abortive. The petitioners alleged that both Sodamola and Sofenwa 'capitalised on being Itoku Chiefs and custodians of Itoku customs, cultures and traditions to sell the natural resources ...

Apapa-led Labour Party Exco rejoices with Abure on his 52nd birthday, wishes him good health

By Tunde Karunwi The Lamidi Apapa led National Working Committee, (NWC) of Labour Party, has congratulated the former National Chairman of the Party, Barrister Julius Abure as he clocks 52 years on Saturday. The Party in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Abayomi Arabambi said the Party is happy to note that the former National Chairman, has turned 52 in good health and wishes him God's sustenance in the same.  The Party also enjoined all party supporters and members of the public to join in the prayer for the good health of the former National Chairman. The statement added that though as a Party, the Apapa-led Executive had no personal grudge against Barrister Julius Abure, the quest to instil discipline and fairness in the running of the affairs of the Party led to the face-off going on in the Party. Concerns Rise as Police Assault Politician's Family

By Our Correspondent  Armed police officers raided and assaulted  one Alhaja Somoye Adebimpe Monsurat and her grandson, Somoye Oluwatosin Khalid, on 3rd, June 2023, inflicting injuries on them. Alhaja Somoye is the mother of Hon. Somoye Sheu Adedolapo, a politician from Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State. The assault occurred at Mrs. Ogunsola Ololade's residence in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. During the invasion, the officers believed Hon. Somoye Sheu Adedolapo was present, prompting a thorough search of the premises and causing damage to property. Mrs. Ogunsola Ololade, the owner of the house, was subjected to assault and threats, while Hon. Somoye Sheu's son, Oluwatosin Khalid, also suffered harm. The incident unfolded at about 8pm at 19, Ijagun road, Ijebu Ode, on 3rd, June 2023, reportedly belonging to Hon. Somoye Sheu's sister. The police officers, in their search for Hon.
